This hotel/hostel concept of a place is beautiful. It's super clean and cozy and a lot of privacy too. It's in a really nice location of Berlin as well.
However, the owner, Andre was completely rude and disrespectful to us during our stay. As there is a self-checkin method, the keys for your room are designated upon arrival. I was given the cube room envelop and my stay was for 3 nights.
As you do in Berlin, we stayed out late on our second night and were sleeping in, at 10:30 in the morning there was banging on our door and (although really sweet woman, a cleaning staff member) was telling us that we are supposed to check out. I tried to tell her we had one more night, but she was being told by her boss on the phone otherwise. She then passed the phone to me and this man was firmly insisting that we were in the wrong room and the room we were designated had been empty the past few nights. I was firmly insisting he was mistaken and showed him the envelop we received the day of our arrival. After all of that, yelling at me on the phone, yelling at his staff member and making her wake us, he sends one simple and poorly written apology email. I honestly expect something a little more polite after making a mistake that was completely his fault, that I had nothing to do with. The sad part is that we were really enjoying our stay here and would have loved to recommend to others, but with the chaos that we experienced during our time, it is difficult to do that.
I am completely outraged that this incident could happen the way it did. Andre seems to be very unorganized about his own business and the way he handles issues with his customers is very unprofessional, rude and insulting. I really hope he and the other owner learn how to manage the beautiful space they have because it is really a shame otherwise.
